Study Looking at a Drug to Improve Kidney Function

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to see if taking the drug sildenafil (Viagra) prior to surgery can improve kidney function when measured three months after surgery. We will also assess the ease of delivering sildenafil to kidney cancer patients in an outpatient setting.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Patients who are scheduled to undergo robotic partial nephrectomy for suspected renal malignancy

What is involved

  • You will be in the study for about four months beginning with your pre-surgery visit and continuing until three months postoperatively
