Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) is an academic health system composed of North Carolina Baptist Hospital and Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM).
U.S. News & World Report ranks WFUSM 18th in family medicine, 20th in geriatrics, 25th in primary care and 41st in research among the nation's medical schools. We rank 32nd in research funding by the National Institutes of Health. Almost 150 members of the medical school faculty are listed in Best Doctors in America®.
School of Medicine Accreditation
The biomedical graduate studies program, a unit of the Graduate School of Wake Forest University, has the approval of the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The Physician Assistant Program is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA).
WFUSM is a member of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
During its last accreditation review in March 2001, WFUSM received the maximum term of accreditation in recognition of the maintenance of high standards in medical education and medical service.
