Infectious Diseases Fellowships
Since establishing the Infectious Disease Fellowship in 1974, approximately 40 percent of graduates have assumed positions with academic affiliations and 60 percent are in clinical practice. In the last 10 years, all board eligible fellows have passed their boards.
Interest in the Infectious Diseases Fellowship is increasing; the Section received 55 applications for 3 fellowship positions in 2009-2010.
Fellows are required to pursue research, with several fellows receiving local and national awards for their research presentations in the last 3 years.
