Overview

The Section on Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Immunologic Diseases at Wake Forest University School of Medicine presents an exciting array of educational opportunities to our trainees. The program developed during the past five years represents what is essentially a new section, and merges longstanding strengths of our Medical Center with new clinical and investigative interests. The rapid and successful growth of our program is reflected by the numerous teaching accolades awarded to its faculty from residents and medical students, the research productivity of our faculty (demonstrated by awards of NIH Grants and contributions to the medical literature), and a commitment to excellence in patient care. The dramatic growth in not only the size, but also the quality of our Fellowship Training Program has simultaneously been an important result of and reason for this success.
